The Starbucks product design team has been putting in work. Hot on the heels of the coffeehouse's spring merch release, an entirely new cold cup is stealing the spotlight. Eschewing the bright color palette of recent designs, this tumbler has a white pearl finish and a texture that mimics the scales of a mermaid tail as an ode to the brand's mascot. The top has a contrasting swirled appearance, and it comes with a lilac straw. The cup is available in both grande and venti sizes for $23 and $25, respectively, and has started popping up at Starbucks locations inside Target stores so far.
Starbucks fans have spotted the pearlescent drinkware alongside two other newbies: a jeweled cup in gradient teal and a scaly metal cup in purple-to-blue ombré. All three are causing quite the stir on social media, with the ivory pearl cup in particular popping up on resale sites like Mercari and eBay for upwards of $50 due to high demand.
The shiny drinking vessels are ideal for sipping Starbucks's new Cinnamon Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew that dropped earlier this month. Inspired by "salted caramels and gooey sticky buns," the drink got rave reviews from POPSUGAR's social content director, who said, "This is absolutely the most I've ever gushed about a Starbucks beverage." Sounds like it definitely beats Pedro Pascal's wild order at the coffee chain.
