Madison Montgomery is back from the dead. On June 17, Emma Roberts shared a message on Instagram insinuating that she would be reviving her American Horror Story: Coven character in the show's upcoming season. Days prior, Ryan Murphy confirmed the show's eighth season would be a crossover between American Horror Story: Murder House and Coven, both of which are earlier seasons beloved by fans. In her video, Roberts quotes her character's famous and oft-memed line, "Surprise, b*tch. I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me."
Several other series regulars have already confirmed their involvement in the season, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, and Cheyenne Jackson. Legendary actress Joan Collins will also be joining the fun in her first-ever and quite unexpected appearance on the show.
The throwback season does leave open the possibility for the return of Connie Britton, who appeared in Murder House, and Taissa Farmiga, who appeared in both Murder House and Coven. Then, of course, there's Jessica Lange's deeply felt absence; she has not appeared in the series since its fourth season, Freak Show. Right now would be a pretty good time for that comeback, huh?
