I Trulli owner opening a second restaurant

NoMad’s iconic I Trulli has been holding its own since its launch 24 years ago.

Now, restaurateur and founder Nicola Marzovilla is launching a sister eatery right beside it — Ristoro del Cinghiale at 122 E. 27th St.

Named for Tuscany’s culinarily famous roaming wild boars, Ristoro del Cinghiale is slated to open Sept. 18.

The 1,600-square-foot space will seat 70 people inside and 34 people on its 700-square-foot terrace, which will be open year-round, Marzovilla said.

“I was born in Puglia, which inspired the food and concept behind i Trulli,” Marzovilla said.

“I’ve also been making wine in Tuscany since 2008 and I’m the managing partner of two Tuscan wineries: Vecchie Terre Di Montefili and Massoferrato, which are the inspiration behind Ristoro del Cinghiale.

“Creating a Tuscan restaurant was a natural next step, so New Yorkers can enjoy all types of Italian fare,” he added.

The new spot will specialize in Tuscan meats, cheeses and handmade pastas — along with Negroni cocktails and Italian wines, including some from Marzovilla’s two wineries — in a farmhouse-style setting.

Executive chef Ben Smallman, formerly of The Modern and Gabriel Kreuther, helms both kitchens.
