That doggy in the window might not be the breed you think.
Shelters correctly identify a dog’s breed only 67 percent of the time, a new study from Arizona State University says.
The study used genetic testing on 900 pups in shelters in Arizona and San Diego.
It also revealed that only 5 percent of shelter dogs are purebreds, though it’s commonly assumed that 25 percent are.
